Bring the whole family for an afternoon of food, games, activities and free giveaways with more than 20 sponsored booths. Michael Kotik, a Castle Pines favorite, will perform live music throughout the event. And be sure to bake a delicious pie of any kind to enter it in the pie tasting contest, to be held at 6 p.m.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., a ceremony will be held, including patriotic music, presentation of colors by a local Cub Scout troop and a tribute to our veterans. Mayor Maureen Shul will welcome the guest speaker, World War II veteran Jim Kennedy, one of the divers who worked to clear the waters off Normandy 65 years ago.
"We are honored and excited to have our new city come together again, not only to celebrate our nation and veterans, but to share in this meaningful and enjoyable event with fellow citizens of CPN," says Mayor Shul.
Throughout the celebration, Solid Life Christian Center will host a concession stand, selling hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, cotton candy and watermelon.
Sponsors for this event include the City of Castle Pines North, Castle Pines North Master Association, Castle Pines North Metro District, Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce, CH2M HILL, Solid Life Christian Center, Widner Michow & Cox LLP and Castle Pines Connection.
Grab your chairs and blankets, and join your neighbors for a great celebration. In the event of inclement weather, please visit the CPN Web site at www.cpngov.com or the CPN Master association Web site at www.cpnhoa.org.
