April 19 Community Meeting Outlines Plans for Unifying City Services with Water, Wastewater and Parks Services
Please join Jim McGrady, Transition Manager/Utility Director, on Tuesday, April 19 at 6pm at the Castle Pines Community Center, 7404 Yorkshire Dr., as he outlines the City's ongoing efforts to unify community services and its reasons for encouraging the integration of the Castle Pines North Metro District. The integration of the water, sanitation and parks services with other City services has always been part of the strategy to save tax-payer dollars, streamline maintenance costs and implement a successful renewable water plan in a way that allows Castle Pines to retain local control of its natural resources. Additional meetings will be held on Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 11. All Castle Pines citizens are invited and encouraged to attend!

Castle Pines 80108
If you are tired of correcting the bank, credit card companies and post office when they assume you live in Castle Rock, we have exciting news! The US Postal Service has officially updated its database to associate 80108 with the City of Castle Pines. This is just another step in recognizing our great city as its own independent community.

However, if you still find that some companies are mislabeling your 80108 zip code, you can ask that they manually adjust it. A company can access the usps.com website to select Castle Pines from an approved list of cities for the 80108 zip code, or if they enter your street address directly on usps.com, it should now be identified as Castle Pines.

Hope for the Best, Plan for the Worst
The recent Burning Tree Fire in Parker is an example of how a little flame can quickly turn into a 1600-acre blaze and cause the emergency evacuation of thousands of homes. We all hope that never happens in our community, but a little time now to think about what’s important can make all the difference should tragedy strike.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has put together a brief article outlining the considerations when creating a "grab and go" bag. In addition, they have created a Citizen Alert System to share emergency and evacuation information. By registering with the county’'s Everbridge Aware™ mass emergency notification system, you can receive notifications via your home, cell or work phone; email; pager; or text message and can register anyone in your home, including those with different contact information and those who may have special evacuation needs, such as an elderly person with mobility problems or someone with a disability. This system allows for the quickest notification and prevents the costly, timely and inefficient issues related to in-person, house-by-house notification.

During an emergency situation, the sheriff’s office will post information regarding public safety concerns to dcsheriff.net. Citizens can subscribe to social media avenues provided by the county to receive the latest updates:
