Multi-modal Enhancement Plan for

Castle Pines Parkway and Monarch Boulevard

June, 2011

The City has initiated a study to identify and evaluate ways to balance the needs and safety of bicyclists, pedestrians, and automobiles. The trail network in Castle Pines is an attractive amenity that is enjoyed by many of our residents. The two primary travel corridors in the City, Castle Pines Parkway and Monarch Boulevard, are fundamentally tied to the trail system. The sidewalks alongside these streets act as part of the trail network, but the streets themselves act as barriers for bicyclists and pedestrians to access the trails. The study will look at opportunities to improve safety, enhance pedestrian crossings, improve biking and walking facilities, and reduce travel speeds while balancing the needs of automobile traffic.

We would like your ideas on how to improve Castle Pines Parkway and Monarch Boulevard for all users. Please submit your ideas to Public Works. We will host a public meeting in mid-July to get your feedback on improvement alternatives. If you would like to receive email notification of the meeting and other project-related news, please submit your contact information below. This webpage will be updated periodically with project information.
