Business Licensing Requirements
Castle Pines businesses play a vital role in our community. By providing goods and services locally to our residents
and visitors, businesses help to ensure our City's prosperity today and in the future. The City of Castle Pines thanks
businesses for choosing our City as their place of business and look forward to enhanced relationships between the
City and our growing business community.
On January 10, 2011, the Castle Pines City Council adopted Ordinance 10-10, requiring all businesses operating within the City boundaries to obtain either a Business License or a Contractors License from the City. These new licenses are in addition to the City of Castle Pines Sales Tax License. The City Council wishes to require persons conducting or operating a business within the City to obtain a business license in order to assist the City in determining who is operating businesses within the City and to obtain data and resources to promote and enhance economic development and planning. The City Council also wishes to regulate contractors operating in the City by requiring them to obtain contractor licenses in order to help ensure that such contractors are qualified to conduct their operations and hold sufficient insurance to protect residents and taxpayers of the City. The City Council finds that licensing businesses and contractors promotes the public health, safety, and welfare of residents, taxpayers, and visitors of the City.
